So many good times and memories with Bill starting in 1966 my freshman year at Wheeling High school and my need to have a fast car. Bill in thoes days knew the need for speed and had the fastest car around. Of course when your dad owns the only automotive parts and repair store around money and available mechanics was no problem. Chief Horcher and the Wheeling Cops all knew Bill and his car which i think was a red 63 corvett.. Bill became a legend with all the street racers and one of my mentors growing up and was very helpful in furthering my legal career in the late 70's and early 80's. We hunt , fished and snowmobile together thru the early 90's with so many laughs So many Days partying at the Clayton house and Market Square and all the super Bowl parties the pig and all the lamb roast Tony and myself hosted that never could have happened without Bill's help, He was truly like a brother to me and my brother Tony' And some many golf outings Bill had put together for so many good causes. . He will be missed by all who knew him , his family and friends. He was a great loving person. May he rest in peace and god bless him and his family

Dear, Joan and Hein Family,
We are so sorry for your loss, in a difficult time that has been made more difficult in these current times. We will miss talking to Bill and his expertise on Wheeling history. He especially knew everything about the “hill”.
A true treasure to the village.

As part of our graduating Class of '59 at AHS, Bill was "family", of course. I did not know him personally, but that matters little--he was still "one of us". I extend my deepest condolences to the family on his--and his community's--loss. May God grant you peace in his passing, knowing the day will come when he will be waiting for you with open arms. God bless you all. Sue Tabacik Renaud

I wanted to extend my condolences on Bill’s passing. The only connection I have is that for the past several months my father was his roommate in the nursing home. I encountered Bill many times when we would visit my dad. Although we did not officially meet, I was so sad to hear of his passing. Sadly, my father also passed early Saturday morning, most likely not long after Bill, but at the nursing home but very similar circumstances. My prayers go out to your whole family. I am sorry that they couldn’t be roommates longer. My dad’s name is Clifford Dean. Today is actually his 93rd birthday. God bless.

30+ years of friendship, Monday night meetings, Thursday morning breakfasts with the guys, Thursday night red hat dinners (without the girls), Saturday morning breakfasts with the girls. Sunday's were free, except when you needed to borrow Tony's truck to pick up some NEV's in Wisconsin. You are missed, and a good friend. The memories will never fade.
