Many, many years ago Rita and Wally road with us to Palm Desert, Ca. One night the four of us decided to explore the desert. To our surprise, the road ended and we were stuck in the sand . There was nothing but desert all around us. The guys decided to walk to the road and get a lift from someone to get a tow truck. Here we were, all alone with kangaroo rats hopping around the car and Coyotes howling all around us, with me being scared and shaking all over.. Here's Rita " well I guess I'll go to sleep 'til they get back" !!! Which was 4 hours later!!!

I am a neighbor, Jennifer Ruggieri, who had the pleasure of meeting Grandma. My children go to school with her great grand children. She would be at Kelly's house often and was always a pleasure to talk with. I would call her Grandma and she never seemed to mind. I was always amazed at how independent she was. I know how important she was to the Stoia family and she will be greatly missed by me as well. My sincere condolences to her entire family.❤

Of course my favorite memory was my perm. I was young and who knew at that time my hair took to perms so quickly. I had an Afro. I had to use one of those stretchy head bands to keep it tame. And when I would stay there, Barb remember we would take turns staying at each other’s house, Aunt Rita would wash my hair and rinse it with rain water. She was always so clever with wrapping gifts as well. My wedding shower I got the nightgown and she wrapped on the hanger so pretty. She attached boxes so it would be one giant box. And for my wedding my gift was in a box that I had to pull the rings on the package to open it. I pulled the rings and she had attached the monetary gift in silver dollars on a red ribbon. Always so clever. I love all my aunts and uncles, I am truly blessed to have this lovely woman as my aunt. Love you all and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
