Conrad was a proud World War II veteran who served as a China Marine. When he returned from the service, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Bradley University. He used his engineering background to enhance his career as a sales and marketing executive. He traveled extensively internationally where he developed his lifelong love of cultures, history and languages. Always a faith filled man, he was an active parishioner at St. Norbert and enjoyed participating as an usher and member of the Knights Of Columbus. A passionate Marine Corps supporter, he was an active member of the Marine Corps League and served many roles including Commandant. Volunteering at the VA hospital in North Chicago was one his passions along with his love of golf, gardening, history and reading. His most definitive qualities, however, centered around his family: his devotion to his lifelong love, his wife, Alice, and his love of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his friends.
