Dear Meena and Family, I was so shocked and sorry to hear of Venki’s death. We had all been praying that he would recover. He put up a valiant fight. I will always remember the kind man he was and the way he welcomed me into your home whenever I would visit. He was so happy and proud of your beautiful, new condo. Even more, he was so proud of his family and the life you had built together in this country. I know you, Sheela, Dave, Kate and Ben will miss him terribly. Meena, Sheela, and family I am saddenened to learn of the loss of your beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Although I did not know Venki real well, what little I did know was that he was a very intelligent, caring and loving individual who would do anything for the people he loved. I would enjoy the times he would join us for lunch at your house Meena, even though he would be the only man amongst us women! In fact, I think he enjoyed that. We have known Ramani uncle since 2004. We would always fondly remember his curiosity, genuineness and his always smiling and happy personality. We also fondly remember uncle cooking dinner for us and fondly recall him making meticulous travel plans to go around the world and joke and say when "Kizhangal" travel it requires lot more planning and time than you do. In 2009 when Malini in a car accident, he was one of the first ones on the scene to help her. I also fondly recall when he asked to go for a ride in my Motorcycle when i had just bought one. He said I used to ride way back when - now at least take me for a ride so i can feel the air in my hair. RIP Uncle. It is really sad that we can not come to say good bye in person - you will be in our thoughts and prayers. - Muthusamy, Malini and Akhil
