Obituary of Beverley R Blaise

Beverley Blaise August 25, 1941 to July 7, 2020 Beverley “Bev” Blaise, 78, Prospect Heights, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at home with family by her side. A celebration of Bev’s life will be from 10 to 11am, Friday, July 10, 2020, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Prospect Heights, and open to all. Masks are required with covid-related guidelines followed. A private service will be held at 11am. Arrangements are being made to have the service made available on-line. Bev was born August 25, 1941 in Niagara Falls, NY to Katherine and Edward Pokelwaldt. She married Charles “Chuck” Blaise, her high school sweetheart, on September 10, 1960, in Niagara Falls and they moved to the Chicago area soon after their wedding, settling in Prospect Heights in 1972. Dedicated to God and her family, Bev accepted all things as they came, living by the motto “It Is What It Is” and always maintaining a very positive outlook with the help of her strong religious faith. She was a great role model, always helping others in any way she could. She was a very active member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd since becoming a member in 1961, and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, camping, traveling, reading and puzzles. She will be remembered by her family as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and extraordinary grandmother. Survivors include her husband Chuck, children Coreen (Ethan) Jersild, Prospect Heights, Michael (Phyllis) Blaise, Algonquin, and Melissa (Greg) Bending, McHenry, grandchildren Kevin Siwik, Veronica (Dylan) Barth, Nick Blaise, Emily Siwik, Elise Jersild, Nina Blaise and William Blaise. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters June, Shirley, Audrey and Carol. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd at 1111 N Elmhurst Rd, Prospect Heights, IL 60070.
