Obituary of Lois J. Lee

Lois Jean Lee, age 92, of Buffalo Grove, IL, passed away on November 10, 2020. Lois was born November 28, 1927 in Martin, Tenn. to Hubert and Nogie McKenzie. She moved to Chicago as a young teenager, where she met the love of her life, Joseph Lee. They married during the war, on Oct. 21, 1944. After the wedding, Joseph had to return to duty on a naval ship. They lived in Chicago until moving to Buffalo Grove in 1970. Lois was a hairdresser for over 60 years. She still was still actively involved in making her “ladies” beautiful. Lois was the loving mother of Brenda (Martin) Fergon and Sharon (Edgar) Ogle, dear grandmother of Kristen (David) March, Lisa (Andrew) Hartman, and Nathan (Kiryn) Ogle. She was the fond great-grandmother of Rachelle (Josh) Hart, Matthew and Joshua Hartman, and Tyler and Regan March. Her family meant everything to her. She loved having them visit so that she could cook for them, especially for the Holidays. She made beautiful quilts for each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a great faith in God that she shared with her family and others. Northwest Assembly of God was her church for over 40 years. Lois is survived by her sister, Barbara Baldridge and brother, James (Jamie) McKenzie. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joseph Lee, who passed away in Jan, 2011 in addition to her parents Hubert and Nogie McKenzie, and brother, Joseph McKenzie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northwest Assembly of God, 900 N Wolf Rd, Mt. Prospect, IL in memory of Lois. Visitation Friday from 4 pm to 8 pm at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S Milwaukee Ave (2 Blocks South of Dundee Rd), Wheeling. Visitation will continue the following day at 10 am, followed by an 11 am celebration of life service at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights, IL.
