Joe was a friend and colleague from our days at Morgan Stanley in Dallas. We worked hard during some challenging times, but Joe was always a level-headed, positive-minded source of calm in any storm. He encouraged us and helped us all be better at whatever we did. And after a hard day of work, I'll never forget the enjoyable dinners we shared -- sometimes sushi, sometimes barbecue, and sometimes a good steak. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to know him, and I will miss him dearly.

I’m so saddened to hear this news. Joe was the best boss I’ve ever had and I was his assistant for a few years. I missed working for him. He was such a good person and I had so much admiration and respect for him. He talked about his family often and loved y’all so much. I’m very sorry for your loss. I think I’ll go have some Lobster Bisque from Pappas in Dallas just for him! My sincerest condolences.

Kathy & family,
Beyond a manager and mentor, most importantly, Joe was a kind and caring friend. He took genuine interest in a person, evidenced by the numerous prior coworkers expressing similar sentiments. I looked forward to each lunch get-together so we could catch up on whatever. Steve and Christy, you were part of the many stories he shared with us in his fun way. I was very fortunate to work with Joe for quite a few years. Straight forward and warm, Joe was always called upon to lead teams to get the tough jobs done. My thoughts and prayers go out to Joe's family. Joe impacted my life as a mentor, a professional confidant, and most importantly as a friend. In a moment filled with sadness, I reflect on some of the moments about Joe that always make me smile. In the many meals Joe and I shared together he would always challenge the chef to make a meal spicy, he made sure the wine was always poured and decanted to perfection and finally he was the one to make me (a non fish eating person) eat unlimited amounts of sushi! Although he's not here his life and his stories have left a lasting impact. Save a seat for us on the cruise in the sky! Miss you Joe.

I worked with Joe at Morgan Stanley. When thinking about Joe, I smile. He was gracious as a leader as there was. He always made time to take a meeting with me and to give advice. It’s been awhile since our last conversation. I’ll never forget his sense of humor and his sense of style - a private joke we shared. My sincere condolences to his lovely wife and family. The world was a better place with Joe. He made a positive impact to many and will be remembered fondly.

I met many fine people in my years working in the mortgage industry but none were equal to Joe. Joe and I shared not only a professional relationship but we shared the love of traveling with our families. I’m so thankful to have known your family all these years. I have so many good memories of Mr. Healan, since I spent so much time at your house growing up! I will always remember him for his jokes, the way he told a story at the dinner table, his smile when he got back from a round of golf, and the way he liked to sit in the family room and read. In this life it is rare that you encounter a genuine friend, a trusted colleague and a wonderful human being ; for me Joe Healan was all of these. I worked with Joe for over 20 years in three different organizations and we faced many challenges together ; and had many successes ; but no matter what the challenge Joe brought a calmness and sense of confidence with him that lessened the burden on all.
