Obituary of Iluminada L. Colina
Please share a memory of Iluminada to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Iluminada Colina, nee Lim, 90, of Northbrook. Beloved wife of the late Federico Colina. Loving sister, adored aunt, great aunt, and friend to many, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 25, 2021, in her home surrounded by the love of family members both near and far.
Iluminada was known as “Nena” to her siblings and close friends. She was also “(Lola) Tita” to her many (grand) nieces and (grand) nephews. While never to have children of her own, her selflessness and generosity extended to her siblings, numerous nieces and nephews and the church.
“Gratitude is the memory of the heart.” This is how she will be remembered by the many whose lives she has touched. An example of strength, hard-work, resilience, dedication, and selfless love. Lastly, her indomitable faith was to be admired. She religiously prayed for all her many family members. Calling out each and every one of them by name.
Of her last few words were these “I am happy," “I love you more… you don’t know just how much," and “How long until I have a connection with Jesus?”
Tita, God has you in His keeping. Your memory is now and forever will be an indelible keepsake imprinted upon all our hearts.
