Obituary of Romeo E Mangul

Romeo Mangul Sr., 79, of Niles, passed away on April 23rd 2021, in Park Ridge. Romeo was born in Manila, Philippines to the late Tomasa Enrile and Pedro Mangulabnan on December 19th 1941. He graduated from Balinag High School and later received both a bachelor and master degree during his time in the Philippines. After immigrating to America to further his education, he enrolled in a business school and soon met his wife. They were happily married for 52 years when he passed. After many years of hard work and determination, Romeo received his citizenship on July 8 1980. Romeo spent some time in the military, but spent most of his career working for Sears and Walgreens. In his free time he enjoyed cooking and learning, he always felt as though there was more he needed to know and things needed to be discovered. He also enjoyed politics, singing, and taking care of his birds. Romeo Sr. will be remembered by his wife of 52 years, Marina Mangul. Their son Romeo Mangul Jr. and daughter Marisa (Mike) La Roussa, as well as their granddaughter Angelina La Roussa. He also leaves behind his sister Marie, as well as other family members still residing in the Philippines. Romeo was a friend to all, and was capable of making everyone feel as though they were a part of his family. In order to celebrate Romeo's life, we will have a visitation at Kolssak Funeral Home on April 23rd 2021. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and a priest from Saint Mary's Church will speak at 7:00 PM.
