Obituary of Victor A Osborn

Victor Osborn, age 94, passed away peacefully May 2, at his home in Northbrook. Loving husband, best friend and true partner for 61 years to the late Joan Osborn. Loving father of Patricia (Thomas) Shelnutt, Michael (Jane) Osborn, Victoria (Bill) Mueller, Daniel (Karen) Osborn, Mary (David) Gall, Matthew (Becky) Osborn, and the late Catherine (late John) Waddle and the late James (Linda) Osborn. Proud grandfather of 16 and great-grandfather of 11. Dear brother of Peter and George Osborn. Victor was a World War II Navy Veteran, having served in 1945 and 1946 on a ship in the Pacific. Victor was a longtime employee of Commonwealth Edison, starting as a Lineman (during which time he served as Union President of the IBEW), and rising into several management positions, ending as General Foreman of the Division. Victor was an avid runner and golfer. He golfed weekly with his family, well into his 90s, and did achieve two hole-in-ones over the years. He also was an active Catholic, and with his wife, Joan, participated in parish life and activities, including involvement in Christian Family Movement and Lectoring for over 40 years at both St. Gertrude Church in Franklin Park and Our Lady of the Brook in Northbrook. Visitation Saturday 9-11am at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S Milwaukee Ave. Wheeling. Mass of Christian Burial 12pm at St. Domitilla Church, 4940 Washington St. Hillside, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
