Obituary of James Copeland David

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On January 9, 2021, I lost my best friend and the love of my life. Anyone who knew Jim wanted to be his friend, he was a gentle soul. Jim was a natural athlete who lived and breathed sports, and was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan. Jim grew up in Deerfield, IL and followed his older brother, Bob, to Tulsa, to at- tend the University of Tulsa and was a member of the Kappa Sig fraternity. There, he met his life long friends / brothers, who are struggling with Jim’s untimely passing. Jim once told me he couldn’t fill a closet with people that considered him a friend. Well, guess what my darling, you could fill a stadium with all the people that love you. Jim is survived by: his loving wife of 28 ½ years, Linda David; daughters, Erin Gookins (Brad) and Shannon Keating (Jim); step-son, Antonio G. Alejandro (Tania); grandchildren, Avery, Nico, Austin, Calum and Ada; sister, Susan Warren (Roger); brother, Bob David (Janis); and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolyn David; father, Robert G. David Jr.; and sister, Lee Cameron. You are in my heart forever.
