I had a sad heart today when I went to pick up paint at Mundelein and heard of Joe’s passing. I’ve know him for probably 30+ years. I remember him working down in Chicago at Allen’s paint. After years of not seeing him, he recognized me right away when I went into the store awhile back and it was great talking about the old times in Chicago. Joe was a great guy! He will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends, May he Rest In Peace.

Although I did not know Joe as long as many of his friend and coworkers, in the short time that I did work with Joe, he was truly a professional and always welcoming to every person that he encountered. He was always willing to step up and assist when needed. He will greatly be missed and there is a big hole in the JC Licht family. May you find comfort in knowing that Joe impacted many people and meant so much to many.

What I'll miss most about Joe:
I'll miss Thanksgiving the most, when we would be sitting around those long tables, food everywhere, and everyone would be laughing at the same time. I'll miss cooking out on the 4th of July. Our Halloween parties, we would play our Trick or Treat game and you always got the trick, but somehow you always liked it. We would have game nights, you would sometimes play but mostly just sit on the sofa and tell us all the answers. You would sing that Root Beer song when you were younger and drive Pam crazy but everyone else would laugh. We also laughed so hard whenever you would order Mom and Pam Chinese food.
When it was just us, we sure had some good talks, usually about everyone that wasn't there. We would make long trips, you, Pam, and me. We would be about four hours from home and Pam would get out and we would bet when Pam would "start b*tchin" (Joe's word, not mine) because she would want you to drive faster to get the trip over.
You became our family and will be missed and loved forever. I'll always be here for Pam, Sarah, and Katie.
Love, your sister-in-law, Barb

Joe was a special member of our JC Licht family for thirteen years . He has been a mentor and friend to so many of us. There has never been more of a team player than Joe. I loved Joe Davis as did everyone who came into contact with him at JC Licht . We are all devastated by our loss and so heartbroken for his family who he loved so passionately.

Condolences and prayers go out to Pam and the Family. Joe was a wonderful human, always willing to help wherever he could. I could not have asked for a better manager/coworker/friend when I started at Epco back in 04 and throughout our paint journey together. Gone way too soon...

Joe was a wonderful, generous, big hearted mentor to so many in the JC Licht family. They don’t make them like Joe Davis anymore. Always willing to help, he was a legend in the paint business and such a team player. He will be greatly missed. Thinking of his family (he was so proud of his wife and daughters) at such a difficult time. I am so sorry for your enormous loss. May he Rest In Peace.
