Obituary of Phillip Louis Pryby

Please share a memory of Phillip to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Phillip Louis Pryby, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 15, 2021. He was born on September 5, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois. Phil lives on through his Wife, Joanie (Lamm); Sons Kip (Joyce), Todd (Carol), Robert (Ronnie), Matt (Sue) and Shawn. Grandchildren Christopher (Brittney), Jacob, Samantha (Tyler), Troy; and many generations that grew up at the house that Phil built. He is now reunited with his Parents, Louis and Myra; Brother Joseph; Sister Louise; Daughter Kimmy; and Grandson Joshua. Phil enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1948, serving in the Korean War with Weapons Co, 3rd BN, 7th Reg, 1st Marines, and participated in the first battalion sized combat helicopter air assault in history in Operation Bumblebee. Phil became a carpenter in 1952. He met the love of his life Joanie in 1954 and married her two years later. This past April they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Phil was 90 years young, gentle, kind, and generous, filled with stories and laughter. He was strong, adventurous, and tough. He loved fishing, mowing the lawn, feeding his birds and deer, and sitting quietly reading a book while eating ice cream. Those we love can never be more than a thought away… for as long as there’s a memory, they live in our hearts to stay. A memorial funeral service and celebration of life will be held in Phil’s honor this November.
