Betty “Vasiliki” Galanis (nee Panagopoulos) age 82 of Long Grove. Beloved wife of the late James S. Galanis for 53 years. Loving mother of Spiro (Dawn) Galanis, Penny (late Kostas) Giannomoros, Christina (Spiro) Angelos, and Nick (Denise) Galanis. Dear Yiayia to Eleni, J.D., Eleni, Jimmy, Vasilia, Angelina, Panayioti, James, Lea and Christos. Cherished sister, aunt, cousin and friend of many. She leaves behind many beloved family and friends in Greece, Illinois, Florida, Georgia and North Carolina where she was blessed to have lived during her wonderful life. Family and friends are asked to gather Friday at 10:00 am at Ascension of Our Lord Greek Orthodox Church, 1207 Riverwoods Road, Lincolnshire, IL. Funeral Service 10:30 am and will process to Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, IL for a graveside service.
