John Joseph Raftery Jr. age 93 of Schaumburg formerly of Arlington Heights. Beloved husband of Maureen nee O’Sullivan for 57 years. Loving father Erin (Tom) Van Der Bosch, John Joseph Raftery III, Nora Raftery and Patrick (Nikki) Raftery. Dear Gramps of Sarah (Jeremy), Matthew, Meg, Claire, Brittany, Mia, Stella, Jack, and Ryan. Great grandfather of Cara. Fond brother of Kathleen (late Ernie) Hall and the late Joanne (late Bob) Proctor and Margaret (late Ralph) McNealy. Cherished brother-in-law of Rita (Kevin) Ellis. Uncle and cousin of many. Visitation Wednesday 5-7 pm at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S. Milwaukee Ave. (2 Blocks South of Dundee Road) Wheeling and will continue Thursday at St. Zachary Catholic Church, 567 W. Algonquin Road, Des Plaines, IL 9:00 am and will be followed by a 10:00 am mass. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. In lieu of flowers donations to the Purple Heart Foundation at www.purpleheart.org will be greatly appreciated.
