Obituary of Pamela Krueger

Please share a memory of Pamela to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Pamela Dexter Krueger, 85, of Glenview, IL, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2022, after living graciously and without complaint with cancer. As always, her loving husband Kurt was by her side. Pam was born on February 7, 1937, to Seymour and Mae Dexter in Chicago, IL. After graduating from Glenbard High School in 1955, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Finance at the University of Michigan, and later an MBA at Lake Forest College. While at Michigan she met her first husband, Bruce Goldsmith. They wed in 1959 and went on to have four children, Carrie, Susan, Penny, and Bill. During the 1960s and 1970s Pam not only raised her children in Winnetka, IL where she was very involved in many aspects of serving the community, but frequently served as a crew member for Bruce during a time when they travelled the world and won numerous national and international sailing championships. Pam returned to the workforce in the late 1970s by taking a financial role at LaSalle National Bank. She would later move to Kemper Financial where she led operations and traded Fixed Income portfolios for the firm for two decades, ultimately retiring as a Vice President in 2002. Pam and Kurt Krueger wed in November 1986 at the Winnetka Bible Church and went on to celebrate 35 wonderful years of marriage together. She was all that a wife could be and a true life partner. She was very active in the church, the Estate Lane neighborhood, and many other organizations. She was honored to have been president of the board of Family Service of Winnetka, now known as Counseling Center of the North Shore. Pam was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She welcomed every chance to participate in the lives of her loved ones and was a brilliant problem solver for others. She loved her Estate Lane community, Bible Study, working at her desk, medical dramas, rainbows, and chocolate chip cookies. Pam was predeceased by her parents, Mae and Seymour Dexter, formerly of Elgin, IL. She is survived by her husband, Kurt Krueger of Glenview, IL; her children, Carrie Southern (Bill) of Pittsburgh, PA, Susan Gross (Bob) of York, ME, Penny Anderson (Roger) of Libertyville, IL, Bill Goldsmith (Kris) of White Plains, NY; her sisters, Susan Baseley (Mike) of Princeton, IL, and Debbie Helledy (John) of Glen Ellyn, IL; her grandchildren, Tim Southern (Shaune), Patrick Southern (Laura), Emily Drees (Mac), Stephen and Scott Gross, Kyle and Jake Anderson; great grandchildren, Wyatt and Isaac Southern, Nora Drees, and June Southern; and Kurt’s family, Kandy Craig (Jim) of Glen Ellyn, and Chip Krueger (Darlene) and daughter Katie of Wheaton. There will be a memorial service on March 26, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Winnetka Bible Church, 555 Birch Street, Winnetka, IL 60093 followed by a reception also at the church. The service will be available on live stream at wbc.org. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Winnetka Bible Church (wbc.org) or Kellogg Cancer Center (give.northshore.org).
