Obituary of Janice Fisher

Please share a memory of Janice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Janice Fisher nee Glover of Grayslake, IL passed away on April 9th, 2022. Beloved wife of Paul Fisher for 54 years. Loving mother of Brian (Laura Medina) and Kurt (Misty). Adored grandmother of Colton (Grace Lamboy), Dylan, Kaci, and Brody. Cherished sister of Patricia (Chris) Hoffman, Cathy (Mark) Ronas, Danny (Wendi) Glover, Lori Glover. Preceeded in death by her loving brother, Jeffrey Scott Glover and sister, Jeannie (Don) Louderback, her devoted nephew, Jeffrey (Linda) Riggs, and her loving parents Eugene and Dorothy Glover. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, and cherished friend to countless people. Jan was the oldest of seven children, and was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. She moved to the Chicagoland area when she was 19 and met her husband, Paul, in the summer of 1967, and they were married December 7, 1968. Jan was a true Proverbs 31 woman. She was a blessing to her husband, a dedicated and FUN mother, and had a servant’s heart. Jan became a believer in 1972 and spent the rest of her life loving and serving Jesus. She led many women to Christ and then discipled them through Bible Studies and as a mentor. She enjoyed working with youth, too, and held Bible Studies in her home, followed by fun events like baking or going out for ice cream. She made it so fun for them to learn about God. From the Fall of 1977, when Jan and Paul started attending Our Savior, Jan was active in serving others in the church family. She participated in every event for women that the church held, was Chairwoman of the Social Community for years, served as a Deacon, provided countless dinners for families in the church, and was a gracious, welcoming friend to all. Jan enjoyed her career as a hairdresser at J.C. Penney and styled falls for the customers in their wig department. She went on to become a Customer Service Representative for Penney’s in their Buffalo Grove Facility. Jan was always looking for ways to serve others and to show her love for them. Paul’s mother, Fern, lived with Jan and Paul and she nursed her, loved her, and cared for her until Fern passed away. Her Girls’ Nights were legendary. Jan had an incredible sense of humor and could make the most mundane events hysterical in her retelling of them. She found a reason to praise her Savior and to laugh every day. To have been loved by Jan was to have been deeply and unconditionally loved. She treasured her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her church family, and her friends. She was a beautiful example of Christ’s love in the world. She was a confidante, counselor, comedian, comforter, and care giver. She most certainly heard, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Memorial service the 20th day of May at Our Savior Evangelical Free Church, 300 Schoenbeck Rd., Wheeling, IL.
