I will always remember both Dolores and Tom's great kindness to me when my own mother passed away, especially an evening they treated me to pizza at Father & Son in downtown Chicago. They offered their presence, which was exactly what I needed. I also will remember Dolores as one of the most faithful readers and appreciators of my books. Her presence lit up the room at my readings. I am so glad I was able to send her a signed copy of my latest book published in 2021 while she was living at the senior home. It was such a thrill to know an avid reader like Dolores liked my work! She had an extraordinary life by any measure -- nine children, 20 grandchildren and all those great grandchildren! I take comfort in believing she is now reunited with Tom and her many siblings. What a great lady!
