Jack A. Kavanagh, Ph.D., age 68, Professor Emeritus of Statistics and Research Methodology at Loyola University Chicago and avid fisherman. Beloved husband of DeEtte. Loving father of Karen (William) Mack, Katherine (Richard) Herdus and Kristine (James) Kavanagh. Dearest Boppa to Jackson, Conor, Brendan, Brianna and Griffin. Cherished brother of James (Barbara) Kavanagh, Patrick (Linda) Kavanagh, Robert (Kay) Kavanagh and Kathleen (Monte) Ahlers. Adored brother-in-Law of Gerry (Sharon) Hutnik, Thomas (Marge) Hutnik and Margaret Hutnik. Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Florence and Giles Kavanagh and parents-in-law Leoette and Willis Hutnik. Jack will be greatly missed for his sense of humor, big heart and great smile by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation Thursday, March 14, 2013, from 3-8 PM at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S. Milwaukee Ave. (2 blocks south of Dundee Rd.), Wheeling. Jack will lie in state Friday, March 15, 2013, at 10 AM at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1111 N. Elmhurst Rd., Prospect Heights until the time of the Life Celebration Service at 11 AM.
