Alfred E. Ney, 82, beloved husband of 47 years to Sylvia (nee Puchala). Loving father of Jeff, Laura (Mark) Kretzinger, and Greg (Gina), passed away at his home in Buffalo Grove on December 22nd. He was a treasured Papa to Gabrielle & Graham Ney, Sydney & Marcus Kretzinger. Al was born in Toledo, OH to Michael & Catherine Ney. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings. He proudly served his country as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army as a Jump Master and Medic in the 82nd Airborne. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Civil Engineering and went on to a career in sales in the technology field. In his semi-retirement Al taught civil engineering and volunteered as a docent for the Chicago Architecture Foundation. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 28th from Noon until 5pm at Kolssak Funeral Home 189 S. Milwaukee Ave. Wheeling, IL. 60090 Funeral prayers will be held Monday at 10:45 am at the funeral home. The funeral will depart at 11:00 am going to St. Mary Church in Buffalo Grove for an 11:30am Life Celebration Mass. St. Mary Church 10 N Buffalo Grove Rd. Buffalo Grove, IL. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
