Obituary of Pastor Michael McPherson

Pastor Michael McPherson age 66 of Grayslake. Beloved husband of Nancy nee Canfield for 43 years. Loving father of Amy (Joe) Herron, Amanda (TJ) Dziekanski and Michael (Kelly) McPherson. Dear grandfather of Joseph, Jack, Audrey, Nadine, Emma, Carson, Macy and Miles. Fond brother of James McPherson, Pamela (Dave) Rogula, Patricia Hagemann and Paula (Don) Warner. Cherished nephew of Homer Sell, Ted and Larry McPherson. Uncle of Many. Pastor Mike faithfully served his Lord and Hope Lutheran Church in Long Grove for over 36 years. He was ordained into the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in 1973 and was instrumental in founding the Interfaith Council of Buffalo Grove. Visitation Thursday 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm at Hope Lutheran Church, 1660 Checker Road, Long Grove, IL 60047 and will be lying in-state Friday 9:30 am at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 29700 N. St. Mary’s Road, Libertyville, IL followed by a Life Celebration Service at 11:00 am. Cremation private. In lieu of flowers donations to Pastor Mike McPherson Memorial Fund appreciated.
