Obituary of Theodor Witte

Theodor Witte, age 86, of Northbrook. Beloved husband of the late Ursula nee Heitkötter. Devoted father of Theodore (Linda), Robert (Sally Guregian), and Julie (David) Thiel. Proud grandfather of Christopher Witte, David, Heidi, and Matthew Thiel. Dear brother of Heinz (Anne), Egon (the late Anita) and the late Angela (Ewald) Möer. Fond uncle of many.

Outgoing and willing to try new things, Ted’s sense of adventure led him to emigrate from Germany to the USA at the age of 22 with only a few dollars to his name. Ted had hundreds of tales about his full life that included the “Panama Stories” from his time in military service in the Canal Zone. He particularly enjoyed telling the stories in which he outwitted some authority figure or got the best of someone who was trying to take advantage of him. Ted and Ursula instilled in their children the virtues of fairness, hard work and consideration toward others. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation Thursday November 2, 2017 from 4-8pm at Kolssak Funeral Home 189 S. Milwaukee Ave. Wheeling, IL. Visitation will continue 9:30am Friday November 3, 2017 at St Norbert Church Northbrook, followed by a 10:30 Life Celebration Mass. Interment to follow Sacred Heart Cemetery Northbrook.
