Obituary of Duane Arnold Madsen

Please share a memory of Duane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Duane Arnold Madsen age 85 of Arlington Heights.  He was born November 11th, 1933 and passed away peacefully in his family’s care on January 13th.  Beloved husband of the late Levada nee Garrett. Loving father of Steve (Mary) Madsen, Vince Madsen, Denice (Jim) Gherardini and the late Toni Kay and Margo Lynn Madsen. Fond papa of Toni, Lyndsay, Lisa, James, Nicole, Carlene, Melanie, Erik, Alfie, Charlotta, Micah and Hannah.  Great grandpa of Kiyah, Quan, Landon, Kadesha and Anthony.  Cherished brother of Marilyn and Margaret Madsen and the late David Madsen and Joan Reichenberg. Dear uncle, cousin, and friend of many.

Duane was hard-working, determined, and someone you could count on anytime.  He was always ready with a story or two or three… Duane worked construction for most of his life and was the “best” janitor ever at Anixter.  In retirement his favorite job was working as a crossing guard for the Wheeling Police Department and District 21.  He lived his life to set his family all up for greatness.  We will always be grateful for dad and papa.

Daddy and Papa you will always and forever live on in the hearts, memories and yes even stories.  We are extremely thankful for your extraordinary life.
