I don’t even know where to begin..there are no words that could describe what an amazing woman my Grandma Calabrese really is, she has touched the hearts of so many lives and made an impact on every person that she met. I love that she had no filter and said what ever was on her mind. She was the kindest, most caring person who was always willing to help someone in need and put them before herself. Grandma was literally my 2nd mom, I grew up in her house and basically lived there all my life as well as my 2 sons have who were fortunate enough to get to know and spend time with their great grandma for this many years. I’m grateful for the 35 years of memories I have with her that I will keep in my heart forever. I loved hanging out with grandma, when I was young I would paint her nails while we watched wheel of fortune or cowboys and Indians, eating our favorite snacks like mint chocolate chip ice cream, her popcorn tins from she would get for Xmas every year, marshmallow cookies, rootbeer floats and getting to stay up late. I would watch and help her make the pizelles cookies for Xmas every year (she never missed a year) she taught me how to make her meatballs with gravy even though they never came out quite like hers, finally trying her eggplant and loving it asking her to make more..Going shopping with her at Aldi, Walmart or Kohls (I think those were the only stores she went to ) taking her to her appts, then treating me to lunch at McDonald’s after our errands or getting her a hot fudge sundae and her getting mad when they stopped giving the nuts Going to the casino “only for the buffet” but then ending up playing..just a little bit

My grandma turned 97 on January 8th, which was also the day the lord decided to bring her home. I really thought that she was gonna live forever, or at least til bout 105…I swear she never looked like she aged! I never even knew she had grey hair til I found it my aunt would dye it As I sit here and write this 20 times over with tears in my eyes, I am trying to make my peace with God. I am so selfishly mad at him for taking her from us, but I do believe in my faith and she lived a beautiful happy, healthy life and is reunited now with her husband she hasn’t seen in almost 40 years, her first born daughter, and other loved ones. I know that she is smiling down on us from heaven, and we all have another guardian Angel who will watch over our family and protect us. I love you grandma Cal..til we meet again
