Dear Mary Beth, Clara, & Etta, It's been years since I've seen Betty but I remember her well. She was an unforgettable lady, so genuinely warm, exuberant, & welcoming, She made everyone feel interesting and special. She was charismatic, pragmatic, and so talented. But my jaw dropped when I learned that besides all her great works down on earth, she had also commanded the skies--and the clouds--learning to FLY as a young girl, . . . That's beyond cool. (Our grandmother managed to stay alive 105 years but was too scared to ever even try driving a car!) Losing a loved parent or grandparent is unimaginably heartbreaking, surreal, lonely. Hopefully you'll draw comfort & strength from all the stored-up love & inspiration (not to mention those daredevil genes) that you each carry with you forever everywhere you go. Sending heartfelt condolences & warm hugs to the whole Loughlin & Schaye clan from yer "old" friends-- Francey, Lucy, Pip, Harold, Eddie, Emily, Lola, &... Django (in heaven--enjoying the all-you-can-eat glove and designer shoe buffet--but still claiming the title of Evanston's first & most roguishly handsome labradoodle). xoxoxoxox
